Signature Projects

ws33The Redford Jaycees are well known in Redford Township for many of the annual events that we sponsor. Our signature projects which are developed, planned, and orchestrated by members of the Redford Jaycees, have an impact on hundreds, if not thousands, of people each year.

"Redford Red," the branded color of the Redford Jaycees, can also be seen participating in our organizations events, including Relay for Life, Make a Senior Smile, Redford Goodfellows, and the Redford Township Festival.

Our Drill Corps of members that perform highly choreographed maneuvers with lawn mowers is a crowd favorite in the Redford Township Memorial Day Parade, the Ann Arbor 4th of July Parade, and the Garden City Santa Parade each year!

Angels’s Night

The Redford Jaycees offer families a fun and interactive alternative to mischief on October 30th each year. Local businesses and community organizations line the sidewalks to drop candy into the bags of little ghosts and goblins. Join us as we hold a costume contest, games, and trick or treating along the Six Mile corridor!

Community Emergency Response Team The Redford Jaycees saw a need for emergency preparedness in Redford Township and launched our own CERT. Members of CERT are trained not only in how to be prepared themselves, but also how to assist Redford Township and surrounding communities in the event of a disaster. Our CERT of over 50 members may also be available to assist at Redford Township events by request.

Community Gardens

The Redford Jaycees organize 3 community gardens in Redford Township for citizens to grow their own veggies and herbs! Cambridge Garden is located on Beech Daly, south of Seven Mile, Ashcroft Garden is on West Chicago just east of Inkster, and our Veteran’s Garden is on Beech Daly across from Redford Jaycee Hall. Opportunities are offered for gardening education, as well as the Veggie Heads program for the local youth to be introduced to the idea of farming. The Redford Jaycees were able to donate over a literal TON of fresh vegetables from our Chapter gardens to Redford Interfaith Relief to feed Redford residents!

Critter Care

Want to take your best friend for a walk in the park while supporting local animal rescue efforts? Then Critter Care is for you! At a time when the Animal Control Unit was severely underfunded, the Redford Jaycees recognized that animals in Redford Township needed some special attention. At Critter Care, you can spend the day with vendors, rescue groups, demonstrations, and friends as funds and supplies are collected for a specific rescue organization and Redford Township Animal Control!
